About
Howdy, I’m Ryan.
I’m an engineer based out of Denver, Colorado. I consider myself a product obsessed nerd that enjoys building software systems that are scalable and human maintanable.
This site is a collection of my thoughts and musings about:
- AI Literacy
- Software Engineering
- Building Tools for the Good of Humans
- Music
I get extra excited when more than one of those topics come together in a project that lets me utilize my top skills:
- Communicating complex ideas in a shared language
- Refactoring legacy systems for the future needs
- Bringing a team together and enabling their individual super powers
Most of these posts are to help future me remember the struggle and pains I have already paid to set something up, but if that also helps someone else out there jump forward in their project that’s even better! I do not beleive in “best practices” since that implies a terminal state of improvement. I prefer to learn “leading practices” and force myself to recognize that I cannot know all of the things.
When I am not working on something techincal, I am usually escaping in a movie, TV show, or playing music (trombone, bass, guitar). I also love exploring the mountains, kayaking or playing in the water, and drinking beer with friends.
